Burcu GÜNDÜZ ERGÜN
Burcu is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Yıldız Technical University, Türkiye, with over 14 years of expertise in industrial biotechnology. Her work focuses on microbial strain and bioprocess engineering using advanced synthetic biology tools, leading to the development of two patent-pending innovations. She specializes in redesigning non-conventional yeast strains such as Pichia pastoris and probiotic yeast Saccharomyces boulardii for the production of advanced biomolecules.
Burcu actively contributes to collaborative research efforts through various EU-funded COST Actions, driving innovation in biomolecule production, sustainability, and the circular bioeconomy. Beyond her research, she is dedicated to fostering scientific dialogue by overseeing scientific journal publications, organizing international webinars, and coordinating congresses.
