Nicole NAJJOUM
Nicole Najjoum is a PhD candidate in Process Engineering within the Agro-Industrial Technology (TAI) team at the TIMR laboratory of UTC and ESCOM. With a background in food chemistry from Lebanon, she has explored the field of plant biomass extraction. Currently, her doctoral research focuses on innovative strategies for extracting hemicellulose from wood sawdust using advanced technologies. She employs a range of cutting-edge analytical techniques, with a particular emphasis on capillary electrophoresis, to elucidate the structural and chemical complexities of these biopolymers. The ultimate goal of her work is to develop sustainable packaging films from extracted wood hemicellulose. Her PhD is conducted in collaboration with Sorbonne University.
